A police constable killed his girlfriend and ex-girlfriend and then turned his gun on himself, Daily Sun SA, reports.
Robbie Raburabu, a spokesman for the Independent Police Investigative
Directorate, said the trouble started when the constable’s
ex-girlfriend, 23-year-old Leah Mahlangu-Magwala (pictured), visited his neighbour in
Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng on Thursday June 16.
Leah then learned that the
constable, who cannot be named as his family has not yet been informed
of his death, had a new girlfriend, Buhle Mabena (18).
"Mahlangu-Magwala
went to his house for a while before returning to the neighbour’s
house. Shortly after her visit they heard the constable and Mabena
arguing," said Raburabu.
During the argument a gun went off. The neighbour and Mahlangu-Magwala rushed over to see what had happened.
"When
they got there they saw Mabena had been shot in her face. The constable
then opened the door and grabbed Mahlangu-Magwala. He shot her in the
chest," said Raburabu.
The
constable then shot himself in the head. He was found with his service
pistol in his hand. All three victims died on the scene.
