win the league with current squad
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has boldly claimed that we don’t need new signings to challenge for the Premier League title next season, insisting that injuries remain the only obstacle, the Daily Mail reports.
Ramsey has been one of a number of our players to have suffered from consistent injury problems over the course of the season which has heavily impacted on our results.
Constant hamstring problems forced the Welshman to miss a significant portion of the campaign but since the turn of the year, he has enjoyed similar results as our team.
Ramsey has been a constant presence and with other players returning from injuries, we were very consistent in 2015 and ended the season with another trophy
“Every club brings in a new faces and a few will leave,” Ramsey said.
“But even with this group of players now I believe if everyone was fit in the season we would have a great opportunity of competing for the Premier League.
“This team has come on a lot over the last few years and if we can get off to a good start next season we will challenge.”
As admirable as Ramsey’s belief is, it is not realistic to state that we can make up the 12-point deficit on Chelsea, and overcome the strength they’ll acquire on the transfer market without external help.
Standing still only leads to regression in the Premier League and if the best sides in the world strengthen their squads, then we have no right to think that we can win a league title with a squad which hasn’t been close to the summit of English football over the past few years.
